MONUMENT 0.6: HETEROCHRONY Palermo 1599-1920 / Eszter Salamon collaboration
In a continuation of the Monuments series, this new iteration creates on stage an imaginary field between the past and the present, bringing together traces of Sicilian musical archives, choreographed sensations inspired by the mummification rituals of the Capuchin Catacombs in Palermo and historical references to the Sicilian revolution of 1848. The work imagines a continuum between life and death, the cohabitation of the living and the dead, and creates its own utopian body: a dancing, acoustic body. By juxtaposing different historical times, practices and memories, Heterochrony also reminds us of past collective struggles and questions what forms of resistance or desire for transformation inspire us today.
